ENOXAMED® is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) antithrombotic medicine containing enoxaparin sodium. It is supplied as a sterile solution for injection in a pre-filled syringe, designed for subcutaneous (under the skin) use, and in specific situations may be given intravenously by healthcare professionals.
What ENOXAMED® is used for
ENOXAMED® is used in adults for the prevention and treatment of blood clots, including:
Prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in moderate to high-risk surgery, especially orthopedic or general surgery, including oncological surgery.
Prevention of VTE in patients with acute medical conditions (such as acute heart failure, respiratory failure, severe infections, or rheumatic diseases) when mobility is reduced and clot risk is increased.
Treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) (excluding PE likely to need thrombolytic or surgical treatment).
Prevention of clot formation in the hemodialysis circuit during dialysis sessions.
Management of acute coronary syndromes, including:
Unstable angina and NSTEMI (myocardial infarction without ST elevation), typically with acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin).
STEMI (myocardial infarction with ST elevation), including patients treated medically or undergoing PCI.
