Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory  (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. How to Use: 500 mg orally every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms persist
Maximum dose: 440 mg (in any 8 to 12 hour period); 660 mg (in any 24 hour period)
